The winner is Kevin Dautremont, MD, of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan for the fiction manuscript The Golden Conquest.
Dautremont is a family physician and father of four who is a history buff, loves mysteries and historical fiction, and has done foreign mission work in Panama. The manuscript is "alternative history," historical fiction clothed in an adventure. It is a fast-moving tale of missionary heroes who travel to the New World in the 1500s in the time of Cortes during the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire in Mexico.
